Melt Filter Cartridge – For Nonwoven & Strapping Band Industries
Product Overview
Melt filter cartridges are core filtration elements engineered for high‑temperature, high‑pressure, and high‑viscosity polymer melt filtration. They are manufactured from micron‑grade metal fibres through nonwoven lapping and high‑temperature sintering. The multi‑layer metal fibre felt forms a gradient pore structure that enables precise filtration control and provides excellent dirt‑holding capacity.
This series is specifically designed for spunbond/meltblown nonwoven production lines and PET/PP strapping band manufacturing, ensuring clean melt for stable processing and superior end‑product quality.

Working Principle
The cartridge operates on the depth filtration mechanism. Molten polymer flows from the outside inward through multiple layers of metal fibre felt with progressively finer pores. Contaminants – such as solid particles, gels, carbonised residues, unmelted polymers, and metal debris – are trapped layer by layer. The outer layers capture larger particles while inner layers remove finer impurities. This gradient structure delivers a perfect balance of high filtration accuracy and extended service life.
Why Do Nonwoven & Strapping Lines Need Melt Filter Cartridges?
For Nonwoven Production
In spunmelt processes, the melt filter removes impurities to provide clean polymer for spinning. This protects the spinning pump, prevents spinneret blockages, reduces fibre breakage, and extends the life of downstream components. Unfiltered melt leads to defects, downtime, and poor product quality.
For Strapping Band Manufacturing
PET/PP strapping demands tight dimensional tolerances and high mechanical strength. Impurities and bubbles in the melt create visible defects and weaken the band. Precision filtration removes these contaminants, ensuring smooth extrusion and consistent product performance.
