Vertical Twin-Cylinder Dual-Stage Continuous Switching Melt Filter
Product Overview
The Vertical Twin-Cylinder Dual-Stage Continuous Switching Melt Filter is a premium filtration system designed for continuous high‑polymer melt filtration. Featuring a twin‑cylinder, dual‑stage configuration that combines coarse and fine filtration, it is widely used in chemical fiber spinning, recycled material spinning, plastic extrusion, and related processes.
Designed and manufactured in accordance with pressure vessel standards, the unit offers multiple heating options including vapor phase (diphenyl), thermal oil circulation, and static electric heating, ensuring uniform heating and excellent thermal insulation. The three‑way switching valves are easy to operate, reliable, leak‑free, and eliminate dead zones.
Working Principle
The equipment adopts an innovative filtration mode that combines parallel twin‑cylinder and series dual‑stage designs.
Twin‑Cylinder Continuous Switching : Two vertical filter chambers are installed side by side. When the filter elements in one chamber need cleaning, the switching valve seamlessly transfers melt flow to the other chamber without interrupting production – enabling online switching and ensuring continuous line operation.
Dual‑Stage Filtration : Melt first passes through the primary coarse filtration stage to remove large particles, then is conveyed by a pump to the secondary fine filtration stage to eliminate fine impurities and gel particles. This two‑stage process effectively removes contaminants and gels, improving product quality and significantly extending the service life of spinning packs.
Flow Path Design : The melt enters from the bottom and exits from the top, with an outside‑in flow through the filter elements. The internal channels are smooth and free of dead zones, ensuring stable spinning without broken filaments during switching.
Key Advantages
1. Continuous Production Without Shutdown
The twin‑cylinder switching design allows filter element cleaning and replacement without stopping the production line – effectively eliminating a long‑standing industry bottleneck and dramatically increasing equipment utilization and output.
2. Dual‑Stage Filtration for Superior Quality
The coarse‑plus‑fine filtration system effectively removes impurities and unmelted gel particles from the melt, improving spinnability and ensuring product consistency. Spinning pack service life can be extended by 3‑5 times compared to single‑stage filtration.
3. Significant Energy Savings
The vertical double‑cylinder structure consumes approximately 30% less energy than horizontal filters, substantially reducing operating costs.
4. Smooth, Disturbance‑Free Switching
Patented dual‑wheel three‑way switching valve technology ensures stable, manual‑easy switching between cylinders without pressure or temperature fluctuations, maintaining consistent spinning quality.
5. Superior Structural Design
-
Compact vertical footprint saves floor space
-
Dead‑zone‑free internal flow channels
-
Excellent sealing, uniform heating, and easy filter element replacement
-
Integrated heating and insulation reduce heat loss
